Stress Analysis Crane Project Final Design

The feature of our structure that we are most proud of is the truss that supports the servo arm. The truss was built in the shape of a flipped equilateral triangle with the two sides being fixed together by a single beam which is both sturdy and aesthetic. When the motor is switched on, the truss shows little twist, maximizing the effective torque provided by the motor to lift the weight. In terms of originality,  the truss is clamped between two triangular structures extended from the top of the base, a connection that allow us to adjust the angle between the base and the truss before drilling the nails on while not sacrificing stability.
